Get to know me:
I have been a Doula and Childbirth Educator teaching The Bradley Method since 1992. Initially I certified and I maintain certification through the AAHCC (American Academy of Husband Coached Childbirth), in 2014 I trained and added additional Doula certification through Dona International. I have been honored to support and attend approximately 12-24 births a year. In 2008 I chose to become certified in Lactation and add to my knowledge and experience in getting babies off to a great start with breastfeeding. In 2016 I attended a Spinning Babies workshop, to add the expertise of teaching clients how to balance their bodies which encourages babies position in utero and for labor and birth .
I have a heart for working with new families, instilling education and awareness for all things relating to pregnancy, labor and birth and care and feeding of the new baby. My goal is to help my clients to learn choices and options that they have in this process and to help them to achieve the birth experience they desire.
I have resided in Lake Forest and am now in Mission Viejo with my husband for the past 25 years while raising our 2 children here who are now adults and am blessed to now be down the street from my 2 grandchildren. I had two very different birth experiences, with my son I had an induction and chose to have an epidural and with my daughter I chose to have a natural unmedicated birth, both in hospital settings. Five years ago I became “Nana” to my granddaughter and we welcomed a grandson in October 2020 to our growing family. I am currently a competitive adult figure skater. My family attends church locally, where I teach in their preschool class on Saturday nights, and I participate and enjoy various community outreach opportunities. I also work at Heart Christian Academy, and have several homeschoolers that I teach twice weekly.
